Ciate Big Beauty Bus Collection.

2015-02-04 12.06.49 2015-02-04 12.07.20

Hello everyone, I was lucky enough to win the give away over at the lovely Lucy Cownlin’s blog. If you haven’t already, you should check her blog out 🙂

This nail polish set is so cute! The colours are very aimed at the ‘british’ colours if you know what I mean? I love that.

This is what Ciate says about the collection: Hop aboard the big beauty bus for a tour of Ciaté’s London’s finest colour! From crowd stopping fashion shades, landmark classics to rich royal hues, this six piece line up captures the essence of the capital city. Kit includes Pom Pom, Locket, Pool Party, Hopscotch, Ferris Wheel and Snow Virgin.

As you can see the colours look amazing. They are all colours that I tend to go for normally when purchasing nail polishes. The bottles themselves feel like such good quality.

I think I had a Ciate nail polish when I was younger, but I haven’t had any since, because I would never be able too afford them, so I feel very lucky too be able too try them with this set.

If you are interested in buying this for yourself, you can find it here for £25.00.

I will let you know what I think of the polishes when I have had a chance too try them all, I am sure I will love them!

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.

2014-01-03 14.45.33

Hello everyone, if you have ever read my previous posts, you know that I don’t really buy ‘high end’ products, just because I don’t like wasting money, in case they don’t work. I got this mascara free from ELLE magazine. This mascara is available in stores in four-weeks time in March priced at £19.50 as far as I have read. I love the idea of trying it before it goes into stores.

The magazine cost £4.00 and it’s available in most supermarkets and places like whsmiths I would have thought. I brought mine from Tesco.

There is always a lot of hype about Benefit products, especially their mascaras, however I haven’t ever tried any of their products, just for the simple fact I don’t want to spend over £10.00 on a mascara. I don’t really go with the ‘hype’ of beauty products, I like too find my own favourite, that way I am not disappointed as much if it doesn’t work.

As you can see, the wand is quite small, the bristles/wand is plastic, it is fairly easy too use and coats the lashes pretty easy. The wand was apparently styled on the old style hair rollers.

It claims to lift the lashes and provide 12 hours hold thanks to the bristles and the hooks on the wand. They also claim that you should be able to ditch your eye lash curlers, because of the lift that this mascara can give your lashes.

I found that I only needed too apply one coat of the mascara for them too be coated properly. The claims that the mascara can make you ‘ditch your curlers’ is false as far as I am concerned. I don’t find that it really ‘lifts’ my eye lashes. The wand isn’t my favourite either, I much prefer my wands too be thicker, the wand is a good concept though, with the little hooks on it.

The packaging of the mascara is pretty, it looks very girly. That is the main thing I notice about Benefit products when I have seen them, the packaging is always cute.

Overall, I don’t think I would purchase this, just because of  the price and the fact that it isn’t really anything special.

Let me know in the comments if you have tried this mascara and what you think of it.

MUA Twelfth Night Palette.

2015-02-04 07.57.29

Hello everyone, this is one of MUA’S newest palette’s that they have brought out for christmas/winter time. This is what MUA says about the palette – Sparkle with MUA’s collection of stunning shades. A perfect combination of glam, easy to wear colours – apply with style!

The packaging of the palette is their usual sleek black palette case. There are 12 shades of eye shadow, which is their usual amount in their palettes. As usual, you can see through the top to the eye shadows, which I love, so you can easily see which colours you want. There is no mirror on the palette, which is too be expected from a cheap palette. However, I don’t mind this, because I don’t use mirrors in eye shadow palettes. It comes with the usual dual ended sponge applicator. Which I don’t normally use, but they are handy too keep in case I ever want too use one.

The names of the colours are some of my favourite –

Top row (L-R):

  • Ice – A pearlescent gold toned highlight shade.
  • Myrrh – A pigment packed yellow-gold.
  • Frost – A blue toned silver.
  • Oudh – A vibrant copper shade.
  • Coal – A deep brown with gold flecks.
  • Fir – A deeper copper brown.

Bottom row (L-R):

  • Hush – A matte neutral highlight shade.
  • All Spice – A deep, red toned brown with golden flecks.
  • Ivy – A beautiful deep green.
  • Plum – A rich, deep purple.
  • Enchant – A pearlescent gunmetal grey with silver flecks.
  • Star Shine – A deep blue-black hue.

2015-02-04 08.00.30As you can see by the swatches, they are so pigmented. (the swatches are without primer) They are done with only one swipe of each colour with my finger.

All the shades are very easy too use for either day or night looks. They all look good by themselves or blended together. They blend really well together, and easily. There is a little fallout when used, but this is just mainly because of them being powder eye shadows.

What I love most about theses eye shadows is that they are mostly shimmer shades. My favourite is oudh. It is such a lovely shimmer bronze colour.

I really do recommend this palette. The pigmentation is just so good for the price.

MUA Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.

2015-02-04 09.27.10

Hello everyone, here is my review on the MUA waterproof eye liner in black.

This is what MUA have too say about the eye liner: Bright liquid eye liner that combines long-lasting wear with a non-flake precision line. Goes on effortlessly. Applies with its own brush to draw a defined line. This is available in classic shades as well as on trend shades.

This liquid eye liner is available in 6 shades. Shade 1 – which is a teal colour. Shade 2 – Which is a bright blue colour. Shade 3 – Which is a brown colour. Shade 4 – which is a silver/grey colour, and shade 5 – which is black. This eye liner is the black in waterproof. The other colours as far as I can tell are not available in waterproof.

I am always on the look out for new eye liners, not only is it so affordable, the eye liner is brilliant. It is very waterproof, it doesn’t rub off and it takes a long while for me too be able too take it off.

2015-02-04 09.27.46

2015-02-04 09.28.01

I have too admit, that the applicator is fairly stiff, and is fairly hard too use when you first start too use it, it takes a while too get used too it. So for that reason, I don’t think I would recommend it if you don’t really use liquid eyeliner.

This is my go to eye liner when I want too create a winged eye liner look, this is my holy grail of all eye liner.

2015-02-04 09.28.36

The swatch is with two strokes, and as you can see, the eye liner is very pigmented. You only need two strokes too make it opaque. I tried to get a straight line, but it’s a bit hard too get a straight line on the hand.

Overall, I do recommend this eye liner, because it is so good for the price, however like I said, I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t really have much experience with liquid eye liner.

ELF Plumping Lip Glaze.

2015-02-04 07.55.00

Hello everyone here is my review of an ELF Plumping Lip Glaze in the shade oasis.

This is what ELF says about this lip glaze – Forget costly Collagen injections, or those painfully stinging glosses, stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout with e.l.f. Plumping Lip Glaze! e.l.f. proudly presents a revolutionary lip plumper, infusing Natural ingredients that awaken your senses for fresh, volume enhanced, and moisturized lips. This dual sided Plumping Lip Glaze has a tinted color for a subtle plump or a clear gloss that power plumps your lips, use together and instantly feel the lip enlarging effects!

I don’t really look at reviews before buying budget makeup, so I didn’t really do any research on them. The packaging is pretty simple really, but I don’t really expect much from budget makeup.

The smell of both sides are menthol, and as soon as I smelt it, it reminded me of vapor rub, however I have found the menthol smell too be normal with ‘lip plumping’ products.

2015-02-04 07.56.35

2015-02-04 07.56.40

Like the description said, this glaze is dual ended, one side is the colour side, this particular one is a nude colour. The other side is a clear pearlescent colour. They say that you can apply both colours either by themselves or together, however when I have tried too apply the clear coat on top of the colour, it washes the colour away, so I tend too just use the coloured side by itself.

The applicators are pretty simple really, they are both dome brush applicators. The clear side is pretty hard too apply, it doesn’t really glide onto the lips like the coloured side. Both sides are fairly sticky, which I expect from gloss like products.

2015-02-04 08.37.18

As you can see by the swatch, the colours are very sheer. They are more like lip balm tints than lip plumping glazes with the texture and colour.

Overall, i don’t really think they do what they claim too do. They do not plump my lips, and the colours are so sheer they hardly show up on my lips. I don’t think I would repurchase this or recommend it, unless you only want a little colour on your lips.

Tesco Midweek Favourites.

Hello everyone, I’ve got a different sort of post for you, a food post! I was given the opportunity through Tesco Orchard too try meat for their ‘midweek favourites’ programme. I have too be honest, I don’t really normally buy  a lot of fresh meat, only bacon really. However, I am so happy too have had the opportunity to try more of Tesco’s meat range, because it is brilliant.

2014-01-01 22.14.51

First up is the Irish beef mince, which I used for homemade lasagna. As you can see, it was £2.00 for a pack of 500g. Which is a brilliant price!

This meat was such good quality, it cooked really quick, and tasted fantastic. This was enough for a pretty big lasagna, which fed four people, and we had more than one helping each *oops* 😉

2014-01-01 22.15.04.jpg

Next up is the bacon, as you can see, it was 2 packs for £4.00 which is a brilliant price for bacon!

I normally go for smoked bacon, however I brought un-smoked because I was using it for my sisters dinner. I also had it in a sandwich, and it tasted fantastic. The only problem is that the bacon is quite thin, so it breaks, however it’s just going to get eaten so it doesn’t really bother me, I just wish that it was a little thicker with more meat. Overall, though the bacon is really tasty.

2014-01-01 22.15.31.jpg

Last but not least, is the Chicken breast portions. There is five in this pack and it cost £3.51 – Bargain!

This chicken is so tender when it’s cooked, it doesn’t go dry, and you can easily cut straight through it when it’s cooked. It melts in your mouth when you eat it. It doesn’t take too long too cook them either, they are really easy too dice up, if you wanted too put them into stir fry etc.. I normally find that fresh chicken can be really expensive, but you can’t go wrong with £3.51 can you?

Overall, I would recommend Tesco’s fresh meat, they are brilliant quality for a brilliant price.
